Stumbling Upon Myself
More specifically, I was intrigued by this:
I'm truly AWFUL at doing anything for more than...well, 3 days in a row. BUT I'm going to try to tackle one of these ideas each day. If I make it, better yet when I make it, I'm going to tackle the year long version of it.
So, without further ado: Idea numero uno.
Immediately, I have no idea. I feel old, but why? Is it because I would love to be 20 forever since that is the age of what I consider a "proficient" college student. Not so much as a beginner 18 year old, but not a 23 year old graduate with a real job.
Then again, when I consider the vastness that is time, or that is to be one's life, I feel like I don't know anything about being old. I still have next to zero patience, or wisdom, or any of those endearing qualities you're supposed to acquire with age.
Trying to find the balance between feeling old, and feeling "green" at life, my logical brain says, "Self, you're 23. You're exactly what you are." But that's got to be the cop out answer, right?
I'm starting to like the idea of feeling as young as possible, but being smarter about it. I think I'd like to feel like I'm 17ish, but also cling to every bit of wisdom I've had the privilege of picking up at my ripe old age of 23.
So I guess: Be young, stupid, and full of life, but find a way to be smart about it.
Wait, isn't that pretty much a 23 year-old?
Sigh.

Another problem solved by global warming
Posted By Joshua Keating Wednesday, March 24, 2010 - 11:17 AM Share
From Africa to the Himalayas, everyone's worried about global warming's potential to drive world conflict. But what about the disputes it will solve? A long-running argument between India and Bangladesh over a small island in the Bay of Bengal has just been resolved: the island's not there anymore:
New Moore Island [also known as South Talpatti] in the Sunderbans has been completely submerged, said oceanographer Sugata Hazra, a professor at Jadavpur University in Calcutta. Its disappearance has been confirmed by satellite imagery and sea patrols, he said.
"What these two countries could not achieve from years of talking, has been resolved by global warming," said Hazra.

My 13 year old girl, Ashley Flores, is missing. She's been missing for two weeks now. Maybe if everyone passes this on, someone will see this child. That is how the girl from Stevens Point was found, by circulation of her picture on TV...The Internet circulates overseas. Please pass this to everyone in your address book. With GOD on her side, she will be found.
I am asking you all, begging you to please forward this email on to anyone and everyone you know, PLEASE.
It is still not too late. Please help us. If anyone knows anything, please contact me at:

All prayers are appreciated!

The Last Lecture - Randy Pausch
From the website:
When Randy Pausch, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon, was asked to give such a lecture, he didn’t have to imagine it as his last, since he had recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. But the lecture he gave—“Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams”—wasn’t about dying. It was about the importance of overcoming obstacles, of enabling the dreams of others, of seizing every moment (because “time is all you have…and you may find one day that you have less than you think”). It was a summation of everything Randy had come to believe. It was about living.
In this book, Randy Pausch has combined the humor, inspiration and intelligence that made his lecture such a phenomenon and given it an indelible form. It is a book that will be shared for generations to come.
